Rivington Water Treatment Works

One of Garside’s principle markets is in the supply of specialist graded filter media to water treatment works across the UK. These projects have very sensitive deadlines, especially in the potable water sector, due to the risk of downtime in supply.

As regularly happens, Garside Sands were contacted by a number of Proposal Engineers in the water filtration market to quote for graded filter media for a new water treatment works in Rivington, near Bolton, Lancashire.

Garside Sands got involved in the final stages of the project when we were informed by the water engineers that the project had run into difficulties and completion dates were at risk. Garside subsequently agreed and completed an accelerated production programme which ensured sufficient sand to exacting grades was on site to complete the job.

The accelerated programme involved delivering over 300 tonnes of Garside14/25 filter media sand in 2 tonne bulk bags over a two week period. A job well done.
