Nature Forum

The Minerals and Nature Conservation Forum is a working group comprising Natural England and representatives of SAMSA, the Mineral Products Association and the British Marine Aggregates Association. In 2005, the members of the Forum agreed the content of a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), reflecting the range of business activities and the opportunities that can be provided by the extractive industry for both biodiversity and geodiversity. The commitments made in the MOUs will help both the minerals industry and Natural England to contribute to the delivery of the Sustainable Development Agenda.

SAMSA was a signatory to the terrestrial MOU which covers work areas specifically for land based operations. A copy of the MOU which sets out the aims and objectives of the Forum may be viewed by clicking here (PDF 2.15MB).
